Don’t be afraid to experiment and try things. Even if you’ve found a system that works okay, there might be something to learn or improve. If you’re worried about sinking too much time into a new technique or app that’s not a good fit, give yourself a time limit for trying it out. I love to play with page layouts and color coding. I will sink DAYS into perfecting a color code system. So I give myself an hour to play with fonts, coloring, and labels. That’s it. Last year I found a way to work with Trello that saved me months of effort. I love it. I wish it had more color options, though and I can’t save a Trello card to my computer. That’s a huge problem for me. So I have to keep looking. But meanwhile, I can use Trello for what it does well.
